What is the X-Suite?
The X-Suite is a comprehensive software solution package developed by Gexcon to analyse hazard severity and risk in process facilities. It includes explosion, fire, and dispersion consequence modelling tools and Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) software.
Based on highly respected research and continuous investment, our software tools are designed to support businesses in optimising safety, design and operation in their projects.
The X-Suite is widely adopted for conducting risk and safety assessments across various process industries, including but not limited to oil and gas, hydrogen, batteries, renewables, mining, nuclear, chemical, automotive, food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals.
Throughout diverse project lifecycles, operators, manufacturers, engineering service providers, and regulatory authorities, among many others, have consistently relied on X-Suite software tools as indispensable resources for making well-informed decisions in their projects.
What are the X-Suite tools?
X-suite consists of the following software tools.
FLACS
FLACS is a leading computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software that simulates the dispersion of hazardous materials, fires, and explosions. It provides detailed 3D visualisations and accounts for real-world geometries and mitigation strategies. The software excels in solving complex fluid flow challenges, making it ideal for scenarios where spatial configuration significantly affects the flow and dispersion of hazardous substances.

EFFECTS
EFFECTS is a comprehensive modelling tool designed to assess the consequences of accidental releases of dangerous chemicals. It employs analytical and empirical methods to simulate various scenarios, such as heat radiation from fires, overpressure from explosions, and toxic concentrations from dispersing clouds. Known for its speed and efficiency, EFFECTS delivers rapid results that can be visualised in Google Earth.

RISKCURVES
RISKCURVES is a quantitative risk assessment (QRA) tool that calculates location-specific individual risk contours, consequence risk contours, and societal risk maps. It integrates all consequence models from EFFECTS and allows users to input failure frequencies and ignition probabilities. This tool is crucial for understanding the likelihood and potential impacts of hazardous events.
