Change one unit
You can easily switch between units for individual parameters by following these steps:
Right-click the unit label
Locate the unit label next to the parameter you want to change.
Right-click on the unit label.
Select an alternative unit
A menu will appear with a list of alternative units.
Select the unit you prefer from this list.
This simple process allows you to quickly adjust units on-the-fly without affecting other settings.
Change default units
If you frequently use a different set of units (e.g., British Standard Units or other local non-SI units), you can define a custom default unit set. This will standardise the units across all models and axes in the EFFECTS software. Here is how to do it:
Go to the <Edit> menu in the menu bar
Select <Options> from the dropdown menu
In the “Options” window, find the section related to units
Specify your preferred units for all parameters.
Save these settings to apply them across the entire software.
Once saved, all screens and models will display values using your specified units, ensuring consistency and convenience in your work:
Benefits of customising units
Consistency: Ensures that all parameters are displayed in your preferred units, reducing the need for manual conversions.
Efficiency: Saves time by automatically applying your preferred units to all models and screens.
Customisation: Tailors the software to better suit your local standards or personal preferences.
By following these steps, you can easily switch between units for specific parameters or set a custom default unit set to streamline your workflow in the EFFECTS user interface.
