Adding a new model in EFFECTS can be done in three different ways. This guide will walk you through each method and provide additional tips for managing your models effectively.
Methods to add a new model
Right-clicking on the equipment
Navigate to the "Stationary Equipment" node in your project tree.
Right-click on the equipment where you want to add a model.
Select "Add Model" from the context menu.
From the menu bar
Go to the menu bar at the top of the EFFECTS window.
Select "Model" from the menu options.
Choose "Add Model" from the dropdown list.
From the Autohide model selection panel
Open the autohide model selection panel, typically located on the side of the EFFECTS window.
Drag and drop the desired model into the project tree under the appropriate equipment node.
Tips for managing models
Rename the model
Select the model and press <F2> or click on the model name text twice to rename it.
It is recommended to use a descriptive and unique name to easily identify the model.
Copy and paste models
Use Edit > Copy and Edit > Paste from the menu or press <Ctrl>-C and <Ctrl>-V with the model selected.
This creates a new model calculation with the same input parameters as the current one.
Delete the model
Select the model and press the <Del> key.
A confirmation dialogue will appear to verify the deletion.
Copy an entire range of models
To copy all models under specific equipment, select the equipment node and use the copy and paste functions.
This duplicates the entire tree structure under a new location.
Rename the copied equipment and adjust coordinates as necessary.
By following these steps and tips, you can efficiently add and manage models in EFFECTS, ensuring a well-organized and effective project setup.
