The first step in performing a Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) with RISKCURVES is creating a project file.
Creating a new project file
Open RISKCURVES.
Choose <File> from the menu bar and select <New> or click the “New project” button on the toolbar.
Choose the location to save the file and name your project. This will create an empty project tree structure.
Creating and executing a QRA calculation
Follow the steps below to create and execute a QRA calculation. Navigate through the tree nodes in the project tree to perform your QRA seamlessly:
Add a background map.
Verify calculation settings.
Define meteorological distribution.
Define population distribution if the calculation of Societal Risk is required.
Define stationary or transport equipment locations.
Add scenarios to equipment location.
Enter failure frequencies and consequence model data.
Calculate risk results.
Evaluate the results of the calculation.
Potential additional steps:
Add a "Consequence Risk" calculation.
Add "IRPA" calculations.
Define cumulation sets, to make a subset of scenarios
Define comparison sets, to compare different calculations or cumulations
Define analysis points, to compare risk at specific coordinate locations
By following these steps, you can effectively create and execute a comprehensive QRA using RISKCURVES, ensuring that all relevant data is considered and accurately assessed.
